I completed my PhD in Computer Sciences at Université Paris-Saclay and INRIA (Paris, France), worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London in the UK, and obtained a Systems Engineering degree from UNICEN University (Tandil, Argentina). I have also been a visiting student at Stanford University, Fulbright Visiting Researcher at the A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School) in Boston, and Invited Professor at Université Paris-Saclay in France.
I hold a faculty researcher position at Argentina’s National Research Council (CONICET), where I am part of the Applied Artificial Laboratory (LIAA) of the Institutes of Computer Sciences at University of Buenos Aires. I regularly serve as a member of the program committee of important medical imaging conferences like MICCAI, MIDL, ISBI and IPMI. I have received several awards for my research such as the Young Researcher Award from the National Academy of Sciences of Argentina, the Mercosur Science & Technology Award, and the Google Award for Inclusion Research, among others. My research interests span machine learning for computer vision and NLP, currently focusing on fairness and robustness, with applications in healthcare.
I am also the Head of Machine Learning at APOLO Biotech, where I lead the design of ML methods for plant image analysis. I have also been an AI Research Scientist at ENTELAI, a startup focusing on the design of machine learning solutions for medical imaging.
